I look upon translation as a highly sophisticated, specialized and creative activity that takes its time and deserves full and considerate attention. A good translation should flow smoothly and naturally. It should convey the intended meaning as well as have the appropriate impact on the receiver. I base my approach to translating on the assumption that a pre-requisite for top-quality translation is a mutual cooperation between the translator and the customer.
